Team Roping USA held its Kickoff Roping for the 2008 – 2009 Roping Season May 2nd -4th and the West Cal Arena in Sulphur, Louisiana was just the spot for our 1st event of the year. With the support of the Louisiana and East Texas Team Ropers we had over 850 teams attend for the weekend. TR-USA continues to be the fastest growing Team Roping Association in the south because of you, the ropers, and we would like to thank you for overwhelming support. We will continue to secure arenas such as West Cal, DeRidder, Yellow Rose, LaPorte and Kinder. With the cooperation of these Arenas, Team Roping USA will continue to be able to offer affordable Ropings.
The price of fuel has had a dramatic affect on the sport of Rodeo as a whole. Team Roping USA is committed to producing events where the whole family can come out to rope and still pay for their fuel to get back home. It would have been easy to go up on entry fees, membership and so on, but the response that we received from you was to leave it like it is and that is what we did. There were also a few who wanted all ropings to be 4 head. Listening to both sides, TR-USA has added the “Triple Crown Championship Ropings.” The Triple Crown Championship Ropings will have 3 roping dates and they will be for 4 Head for $60.00. (ALL OTHER ROPINGS WILL CONTINUE TO BE 3 HEAD FOR $40.00). There is a $1,000.00 bonus at each Triple Crown Ropings and if there is a Triple Crown Champion the total bonus amount throughout the ropings will be $6,000.00. Look for more details to come.
